I'm a big time football fan who likes to watch good TV on the computer. I wrote this review because I was fed up with the poor satellite service I received at home. I took on the task of reviewing the best options in the market to watch TV on the computer. YOUR SATELLITE TV IS THE WORST!Maybe your view is obstructed by trees and buildings, making it difficult to get a proper signal. Or even worse, when the line of sight to your satellite is blocked by snow or rain, your signal gets dropped. Have you tried to solve the problems with your satellite tv provider? Of course! Unfortunately for you, it became painfully clear that their idea of customer service meant nothing but hassles and headaches for you. Choosing cable, which can have similar headaches and problems, was not a better option. That's if you even have the option to choose cable. So with satellite tv and cable being your only options in town, you can forget about enjoying high quality television. Recently I was speaking to a close friend of mine, Ross. Ross said he found a website that provided a TV service for him to watch TV on the computer for a one time payment of $149.95! Since he was already paying close to that amount per month for his lousy Satellite TV service, he decided to give it a go. His experience was mostly good, however there were a couple of issues. The service he used was more interested advertising products than providing the quality TV for his computer. The customer service was even more frustrating. When Ross needed help navigating the confusing menu, the customer service took forever get back to him. By then he already gave up and canceled the service. On the other hand, I still had hope for fixing my situation. There had to be a better way to watch tv on the computer, and I was not going to stop until I found it. THIS IS HOW I DID IT....I signed up for all the so called best "Online TV" services. Next, I rated each based on Ross's experience and my own goals. "Now this is where it gets fun." I brutally tested every service for 6 MUST HAVE FEATURES. THE 6 MUST HAVE FEATURES FOR ANY ONLINE TV SERVICE:
WHAT DID I DISCOVER?Time after time I discovered that most services gave me a very poor channel selection, sluggish connection speeds, choppy channels and ridiculous sound quality. This was the case no matter which computer I used. To top it all off some TV to PC programs didn't even load up on my computers. Then when it came time for refunds, lets just say "they sneaked out the back door" leaving me with absolutely nothing. "I was very disappointed on the shocking number of sites that did not live up to their own hype." Even though many of these TV on PC programs did not live up to my expectations, I did manage to find a few Services that truly stood out of the crowd like a sore thumb. They even ran flawlessly on all my test computers. I had PCs running Windows Vista, Windows XP and some with MAC OS X. These programs also include how-to-tutorials which is great if you actually needed them... Finally with these TV on PC services you only pay a one time fee as opposed to monthly fees. What's the point of that? If you are seriously planning on spending your hard earned money, watching tv on the computer is the best investment to make. SO WHAT'S THE BEST CHOICE TO WATCH TV ON MY COMPUTER?Ok, I'll get right to it and show you my FAVORITE TV ON PC SERVICE...
1. Ease of Use - Satellite PC Pro was very fun and easy to use. They give you a "how-to-tutorial" that's very helpful, but not neccessary. That's because the software comes with a very professional looking interface and the program is a breeze to navigate through. You will find exactly what you want to watch in no time. 2. Channel Selection - Their Channel Selection was outstanding with 3,000 plus channels all at your fingertips. Channels from Sports, Music, Movies, Weather, News, Shopping, Kids Channels, Educational Channels and more. The truth is they have a very broad range of channels in many different languages. You're Gonna Love It! 3. Connection Speed - Satellite PC Pro's connection speeds were very fast for a high percentage of channels while others took roughly 10-15 seconds to load up. Some channels from other countries actually took a little longer to load because of where the channels are hosted. An added bonus was the majority of channels actually loaded up rather quickly on 56K modems for those of us who don't have high speed internet. 4. Picture Definition and Quality -
5. Software Functionality - Satellite PC Pro uses a technology called NETVO which can record the channel your watching or schedule your favorite shows for recording later! Its like TIVO for the Internet! They also give you a FREE Bonus - DVD Burner Software. (THIS IS WHAT WON ME OVER!) 6. Customer Support - Their customer support was excellent because they were there to answer my questions after the product was purchased.

1. Ease of use - Easy TV Software was also very easy to operate. It is designed to be especially user-friendly with the familiar feel and look of regular cable or satellite TV programming. You don't need to know much about computers to enjoy EasyTV. 2. Channel Selections - Their channel selection was also very broad with nearly 6,000 plus channels of your favorite Sports, Movies, News, Educational Channels etc. You basically would never run out of interesting things to watch. 3. Connection Speeds - Easy TV Software's connection speeds were pretty fast too but of course there was a small percentage of my test sample that took a while to load (15 - 20 seconds). Again, the issue here is the foreign channels and where they are hosted. 4. Picture Definition and Quality - Picture quality was good with crystal clear pictures on basically all premium channels. There were some channels that lacked the clarity besides that the channels were still pretty good. I would say about 15% of the channels were just average quality. Plus there's Full Screen YouTube Videos,Thumbnails for ALL Channels, Resizable Channels, Full screen Channels 6. Customer Support - Customer service regarding payment or software issues was available 24/7 by emailing their support staff. Every time I emailed, they replied within 24 hours. 7. Overall Score - Overall this program proved itself to hang with the best in its class.
1. Ease of Use - Satellite Direct's 1 minute setup is as easy as it gets! 2. Channel Selection - Sit back and enjoy over 3,500 channels all for your viewing pleasure. From soaps and sports to movies and dramas, any time, day or night. 3. Connection Speed - Satellite Direct's connection speeds are good, but out of the three providers mentioned here, they have most to improve here.
